One Army posting took me to a remote area in the southwest, miles from civilization. When a few of us could get away we would hit the closest town, get drunk and cruise a little, looking for some action. And typically we didn't get much, but since it was a long way back to the base we often piled into a motel room and crashed to sleep it off.
